RBC Cup Opening Ceremonies Plans Announced

The RBC Cup 2018 Host Committee is pleased to announce that the host Chilliwack Chiefs’ first game of the round-robin will happen, Saturday, May 12 at 7pm PST at Prospera Centre in Chilliwack. The Chiefs will host Team Pacific. The team playing will be the winner of the Doyle Cup; to be determined at the end of a best-of-seven game series between the league champions of the BCHL and AJHL.

The Opening Ceremonies and game will feature the best of Chilliwack, including the Sardis Drumline, O’ Canada sung by Chilliwack’s Bria Skonberg, and live band, Judy Tuesday, on the Chiefs’ Entertainment Stage, along with dignitaries from the RBC Cup Host Committee, City of Chilliwack, Hockey Canada, and more.

All five teams participating in the RBC Cup tournament, along with the crew of officials, will be showcased as part of the Opening Ceremonies. During the game, fans will be able to play McDonald’s Chuck-a-Puck, and enjoy performances by the Sardis Drumline, Chilliwack Chiefs Dance Team, and one lucky fan will play the Save-on-Foods Cart Shuffle game.

 The five teams participating in the RBC Cup 2018 are:

  • Team West – the top team represented from the SJHL and MJHL
  • Team Pacific – the top team represented from the BCHL and AJHL
  • Team Central – the top team from SIJHL, NOJHL and OJHL
  • Team East – the top team from the CCHL, LHJQ and MHL
  • Team Host – the Chilliwack Chiefs
