The Chilliwack Chiefs are proud to announce the commitment of 2005-born Hunter McInnes for the 2022-23 BCHL season. The 6’1” defenceman currently plays for the St. George’s School U18 team, where he has put up 9 points in 14 games this season.
McInnes has suited up for 3 games this season with the Chiefs as an Affiliate Player, where he made an immediate impression on the coaching staff with his physical play and character.
“We were really impressed with Hunter throughout training camp, as well as the last 3 games he played with us. He plays with a lot of poise and confidence for a young Defenseman, we are thrilled that he chose to develop his game in Chilliwack as he prepares for the NCAA,” said Associate Coach Brad Rihela.
“I’ve wanted to play for the Chilliwack Chiefs for a long time. The Chief’s have an excellent reputation for compete level, staff and fans,” said McInnes before adding, ”I couldn’t believe how surreal my first home game was.”
