Grant Riley Commits to Northeastern University

The Chilliwack Chiefs are pleased to announce that goaltender Grant Riley has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for the Northeastern University Huskies.

In 38 regular-season games with the Chiefs, the 19-year-old netminder earned 25 wins with a 2.47 GAA and .907 save percentage. The Rochester, New York product was also named to the Coastal Conference All-Star team.

“I’m extremely proud of Grant. He has worked extremely hard this year to get his game back to where it needed to be both on and off the ice,” said Chiefs Head Coach and General Manager Brian Maloney. “We couldn’t have asked for a better person and teammate this season. He has given us everything he has and it will be exciting to watch him develop through this year‘s playoffs and into his college career.”

For Riley, he says he is excited to be given the opportunity to play and study at Northeastern

“It’s a fantastic program and I’m looking forward to joining the Huskies in the fall,” said Riley. “I want to thank coach Maloney, Rihela, Shaw, and Skapski for helping me prepare for this next step. Also, I want to thank my teammates and the entire Chilliwack Chiefs organization for supporting me throughout this season.”

Congratulations, Grant!
