The Chilliwack Chiefs have traded 2003-born goaltender Cole Savage to the Drayton Valley Thunder of the AJHL.
“Today was an extremely hard day. Since his first day with the Chiefs, Cole has brought an incredible work ethic and infectious positive attitude to the rink with him every day,” said Head Coach and General Manager Brian Maloney. “This move allows him to continue to pursue his goals and we know he is going into a good situation.”
Savage was in his second season with the Chiefs. In his rookie campaign, the Abbotsford-born goalie played 20 games, earning 8 wins and a .886 save percentage.
Known for his dedication to the game, constant smile, and love of the community the goaltender quickly became a favourite amongst fans and staff.
“We want to thank Cole for all his time and effort on the ice and within our community. We wish him all the best with this new opportunity,” said Maloney.
