Chiefs to rebuild and re-brand summer programming

The Chilliwack Chiefs are excited to announce that they are in the process of a rebuild of all summer programming and camps. The organization has decided to create more age and skill-specific hockey programming to address the increased demand for hockey development in the Chilliwack area and across the Lower Mainland. The Chiefs will be offering age-specific hockey training solely focused on helping local athletes take their game to the next level. The organization is currently working to secure elite-level career coaches to take part in this venture, and will also be running a number of programs in conjunction with Club XO Fitness which is also based out of the Chilliwack Coliseum.

The Chiefs will continue to offer their annual three-week June hockey program, as well as their six-week high performance program, and will add age and skill appropriate programs focusing on areas such as power-skating and mechanics, puck control and shooting, position specific training, among others. There are also plans to bring goalie specific training and development to the Chilliwack Coliseum this spring and summer. All programs will now be run by members of the Chilliwack Chiefs hockey department and guest coaches with specialized expertise.

“We are excited about the direction we are taking our programming and the development opportunities we will provide to hockey players in the city of Chilliwack and surrounding areas. We have had a number of exciting conversations with some elite coaches and are proud of the progress we have made thus far,” says Chiefs Associate Coach and Assistant General Manager Brad Rihela.

The Chiefs will begin announcing their programming in the coming weeks.
