Chiefs rally late to defeat Kings

The Chiefs scored the game’s final five goals to erase a 5-2 deficit and earn a 7-5 victory over the Powell River Kings in Powell River Saturday night.

Harrison Blaisdell led the way offensively for the Chiefs (19-7-0-0) with two goals and three assists. Kevin Wall added a pair of goals including his league leading 21st of the season and an assist to increase his league leading point total to 41.

The Chiefs trailed 4-2 after the first and 5-4 after the second.

Matt Holmes, Cole Donhauser and Nathan Kelly also scored for the Chiefs who take on the Alberni Valley Bulldogs Sunday afternoon in Port Alberni.

The Chiefs remain in first place in both the mainland division and the league with 38 points. They sit three points up on the second place Prince George Spruce Kings who were 2-1 winners in Port Alberni Saturday.

Mathieu Caron earned the win, his league leading 17th of the season.

Chilliwack returns to home ice Wednesday when they host the Langley Rivermen.
