Chiefs edge Eagles in shootout

After avoiding the shootout as the way to decide a game through the season’s first 28 games the Chiefs have needed that extra extra step in two of their last three games and have come out on the right side both times.

Last Friday it was Cole Donhauser and Brett Willits scoring in the shootout to lead Chilliwack to a 3-2 win over Prince George at Prospera Centre.

Last night it was Donhauser who was the only on one of five combined shooters to score to lead the Chiefs to a 3-2 win in Surrey.

The Chiefs twice trailed in this game including 2-1 after forty minutes.

Tylor Pang early in the first and Liam Ryan midway through the second scored for the Eagles.

Kevin Wall with just over six minutes gone in the first and Matt Holmes early in the third replied for Chilliwack.

Nolan Hildebrand earned the win for the Chiefs turning away 19 Eagles shots.

Cayden Bailey made 35 saves in a losing effort for the Eagles.

The Chiefs next action is Wednesday when they host the Langley Rivermen. Note the start time is 2pm.
