Chiefs drop 4-1 decision in Port Alberni

The Alberni Valley Bulldogs got 40 saves from John Hawthorne and former Chief Ryan Miotto scored once to help lead the Dogs to a 4-1 decision over the visiting Chiefs Sunday afternoon.

The loss ended a modest three game winning streak for the Chiefs (19-8-0-0) who saw their overall and division leads shrink to two points.

The Chiefs lead this one 1-0 on a power play goal by Brett Willits in the second period.

The Dogs replied with a power play goal of their own by Miotto to tie the game at one after forty minutes.

Third period goals by Mitch Deelstra, Keaton Mastrodonato, and Grayson Valente put the game on ice for the home squad.

Nolan Hildebrand made 34 saves for the Chiefs who return to home ice Wednesday when they host the Langley Rivermen.
