Chiefs 7 Bulldogs 4

The line of Kevin Wall, Skyler Brind’Amour, and Matt Holmes combined for 14 points to lead the Chiefs to a 7-4 victory over the visiting Alberni Valley Bulldogs Sunday afternoon at Prospera Centre.

The Chiefs now have a record of 17-7-0-0 while the Bulldogs drop to 7-13-1-0.

Mitch Deelstra got the goal scoring started at the 9:19 mark of the opening period by wristing his sixth of the season past Chiefs goaltender Nolan Hildebrand from the right hashmarks.

The Chiefs answered that just under five minutes later.

With Chilliwack on the power play, Marcus Tesink’s point shot was tipped in front of the net by Brind’Amour. Not able to react in time was Bulldogs goaltender Cole Demers. The goal was Brind’Amour’s sixth of the season. Matt Holmes picked up the second assist.

Shots after twenty minutes were 13-12 Chiefs.

The teams erupted for three goals each in the middle period.

Goal scorers in the middle from for Chilliwack were Cole Donhauser, Alex Marrocco and Wall while Keaton Mastrodonato scored twice and former Chief Ryan Miotto scored once for the visitors.

Shots after two periods were 27-20 in favor of Chilliwack.

Early third period goals by Wall and Brind’Amour chased Bulldogs net guard Cole Demers from the game and gave the Chiefs a 6-4 lead.

Carter Wilkie added his third of the season to make the final 7-4.

Matt Holmes picked up five assists in the game while Brind’Amour struck for two goals and two assists. The third member of the line, Kevin Wall moved into first place in league scoring raising his season totals to 19 goals and 34 points after scoring twice and adding three assists Sunday afternoon.

Chilliwack will now enjoy a full week off before traveling to Surrey on Monday November 12th for a 12:30 pm game.
